As many as 24 people died as a boat capsized in the river Korotoya in northern Panchagarh district today.
The boat sank this noon in Auliya Ghat area under Boda police station as it was overloaded, said Boda Thana Officer-in-Charge Shujoy Kumar Rao.
He said the deceased could not be identified immediately. “Rescue operations are going on” he added.
The OC also said dozens remained missing in this accident in the river Korotoya.
