The concluding parade of “General Ansar Basic Training (men) first phase”, of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) for the fiscal year 2023-24 was held at Bangladesh Ansar-VDP Academy in Shafipur of Gazipur on 25th February. Md Mustafizur Rahman, secretary to the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, took salute of the parade as the chief guest.
Director General (DG) of AKM Aminul Haque Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Forces (VDP)Ansar attended the programme as a special guest. Commandant of the Ansar and VDP Academy Md. Nurul Hassan Faridee, Deputy Director Generals, top officials, employees, and general members were also present.
The parade started At Yead Ali Parade Ground on 25th February morning. The chief guest entered through the western end of the field, being guarded by the cavalry team. He observed the parade in a well-equipped green colour open jeep.
The trainees raised their hands towards their respective scriptures and took an oath to dedicate their lives in the service of the country and its people, adhering to the constitution. In this phase, 793 individuals completed training as general Ansar.
The chief guest handed over trophies to Md. Iqbal Hossain for his excellence in drill, Md. Abu Naeem Sohan for his excellence in firing and Md. Noman Bakaul won the award as the smartest trainee.
Thousands of General Ansars engaged in the security of more than 5000 public and private institutions, including airports, seaports, EPZs, metro rail, hospitals, five-star hotels, banks and unnumbered financial institutions.
The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces had operated ‘Operation Secured Travel’ in railways, waterways and highways across the country in 2023-2024 . The members work relentlessly amid foggy and intense cold wave.
Besides, members of Bangladesh Ansar were deployed across Bangladesh to maintain law and order, ensure the security of polling stations and ballot boxes in the 12th general election, and they had been highly appreciated for their responsible activities.
