Journalist, Arifullah Noory was elected as president by garnering 26 votes in the Biennial election of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila Press Club .
Another competitor , Nurul Alam Sikder got 23 votes for the post of general secretary. Besides, Abdu Sukkur got 22 votes for the post of senior vice president, Sahab Uddin Sikdar got 17 votes for the post of organizing secretary, Zafarul Islam Rana got 19 votes for the post of treasurer.
Besides, Vice President Syed and Senior Joint General Secretary Russell Uddin were elected ,being unchallenged.
The election was held on Saturday (February 24) from 2 pm to 4.30 pm at the press club office.
The newly elected president of the press club, Arifullah Noory said ,’This election will set an example for the people of the district. Many organizations do not have the courage and sincerity to cherish the spirit of democracy to create leadership.’
