Boalkhali Amuchila Union Awami League general secretary Abdullah Al Noman was seen distributing money alongside with his followers to a woman from ward number two of Amuchia Union on 26 May at 11:30 AM for the chairman candidate and businessman Muhammad Zahedul Hoque with the helicopter symbol. Noman asked a woman whether she is a voter or non-voter in this area. When she replied that she is a voter, Noman immediately gave her money. When Noman asked about this incident, he said , “ I did not give money to any voter. I distribute money to many people daily. I have to check whether I gave money to my party members or I gave it to them for having tea and snacks.
Assistant returning officer Moinul Hoque said, ‘I have noticed the video and where I have seen the distribution of money for the candidate with the helicopter symbol. This is a clear violation of the code of conduct of election. No one can distribute money to voters for the candidate according to the law. I will investigate on this and issue show -cause notice if any act of polls code violation found.”
