State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simeen Hussain Rimi said,’ women are the assets of a country, they are not a burden to anyone” in a discussion meeting with the Swedish Ambassador’s delegation members. ‘
She stressed on this while having a discussion with Swedish Ambassador, Ms. Alexandra Berg Von in her office room of Bangladesh Secretariat yesterday.
Various important issues including the development of bilateral relations, gender equality, empowerment of women, impact on women due to climate change, prevention of child marriage, gender-based violence and gender responsive budget were discussed in this program.
Ms. Alexandra Berg Von praised the government saying that Bangladesh is the role model of women empowerment and Sweden wants to be a partner of the development spree of Bangladesh.
