Julian Calefato to Leave BCB

Julian Calefato, the National Lead Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), will be departing from his permanent position due to compassionate reasons.

Calefato’s decision comes as his companion has experienced a recurrence of a serious illness, requiring extensive medical attention in the foreseeable future.

After completing his notice period, he will be returning to the United Kingdom at the end of this month.

Having served as the National Team Physiotherapist for two years until November 2021, Calefato took a sabbatical from international cricket with the BCB. He then had a successful season in County Cricket with Derbyshire before rejoining the BCB in January this year as the National Lead Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Manager, based in Dhaka.

With Calefato’s departure, the BCB will initiate the process of finding a suitable replacement for the crucial role of National Lead Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Manager.

The Bangladesh team is currently on leave for Eid al Azha. After the Eid break, they will get back and prepare for the limited-over series against Afghanistan that will take place in Chattogram and Sylhet.
