3 green coconut traders fined Tk 20,000

A team of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a drive here realised Taka 20,000 as fine from the owners of three green coconut wholesale traders for various irregularities in different areas in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.

Sources concerned said the team led by assistant director of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in Bogura Md Iftekharul Alam Rizvi conducted the drive at Al Amin Dub Gor in Godarpara area, fined Taka 10,000, Dui Bhai Dub Gor in Namazgar area, fined Taka 5,000 and M/S Rupam Enterprise of Gowalgari area, fined Taka 5000 for not being able to mention the logical reason for the price hike, not saving the purchase voucher and not displaying the price list.

The wholesale traders were fined Taka 20,000 for various irregularities and violation of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.

Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation team. Purchase and sale vouchers are alerted to be preserved. The drive would continue in the district, Alam added.
