A teenager was killed and five others were injured in a road accident on the Lakshmipur-Dhaka Regional Highway in Charchamita area of Hazirpara union under Sadar upazila today.

The deceased was identified as Md Akash, 13, son of Manik Hossain, a resident of Kathali village under Kusakhali union of the upazila.

The accident occurred in the area when a bus of Anand Paribahan collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw around 11am, leaving CNG driver and five passengers of the CNG injured, said Mofizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chandraganj Highway Police Station.

Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Sadar Hospital where Akash succumbed to his injuries, he said.

The body was kept at the Sadar Hospital morgue, he added.
