National Fisheries Week-2023 begins in Bhola

The “National Fisheries Week-2023” began in the district today aiming to make the people aware to increase production of safe fish.

This year, the theme of the campaign is “Nirapad Machhea Varbo Desh, Gorbo Smart Bangladesh (We will fill the country with safe fish and build Smart Bangladesh)”. The week will end on July 30.

On the occasion, the district administration and Department of Fisheries jointly organised a discussion on the Zila Shilpakala Academy premises this morning.

Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and Member of Parliament of Bhola-1 constituency Tofail Ahmed virtually inaugurated the National Fisheries Week-2023, as the chief guest this morning with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Arifuzzaman in the chair.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ripon Kumar Saha, Additional Police Superintendent Md. Asaduzzaman, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Touhidul Islam, Sadar Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Md. Jamal Hossain, Coast Guard South Zone Staff Officer Lt. Hasan Mehedi and Sadar Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Mohammad Yunus, among others, spoke.

On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from the Zila Shilpakala Academy premises which paraded the important streets in the city and ended at the Sadar Upazila Parishad.

Fish fry was released in the upazila pond this morning. Kazi Farms Limited of the district was awarde.
