Potential ministers in new cabinet

As a new cabinet is set to be sworn in on Thursday, members of the new Cabinet members are getting phone calls from the Cabinet Division from Wednesday evening.

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam confirmed his invitation .

Besides, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury got a phone call with a promotion to cabinet minister.

 

Along with them, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Law Minister Anisul Huq, Information Minister Hasan Mahmud, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Education Minister Dipu Moni also received phone calls to take oath as cabinet members on Thursday.

The list also includes Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, Bahauddin Nasim, Nazmul Hasan Papon, Junaid Ahmed Palak, Sazzadul Hasan, Kujendra Lal Tripura, and Dr Selim Mahmud also received the invitation.

 

Former science and technology minister Architect Yeafesh Osman and Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, will be included in the new Cabinet Division as technocrat ministers.

 

“President Mohammed Shahabuddin will administer the oath to the new cabinet members,” President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told media.Cabinet Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain will conduct the new ministers’ oath-taking ceremony at Durbar Hall of the Bangabhaban, the Bangabhaban spokesman added.On the occasion, the Bangabhaban has taken preparation to arrange the

ceremony with as many as one thousand guests along with dignitaries.

 

The new cabinet will be comprised of 36 members this time, Cabinet Secretary Mahbub Hossain told the media.
