Mustafizur Rahman: A man of humanity

Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station, who is known as a man of love and humanity for this, the police department rewarded him and honored him.

In an interview with The Bangladesh Update, he talked about various kinds of issues like terrorism and violence, police duty and kindness to the mass people of the country, government success about maintaining law and order situation, police history and success and present perspective, Abu Sufian interviewed Md. Mostafizur Rahman,Officer-in-charge of Banani Police Station.

In order to achieve success in career or any other jobs, man will have to work hard with determination, devotion and sincerity, said Md. Mostafizur Rahman.

“No one gives anything to anyone. It has to be earned,” he said in an interview with The Bangladesh Update. To gain success, he said, man also have to face a lot of challenges throughout their life. Mentioning that there is no alternative to hard work, he said, “Every man should come forward.”

Mustafizur Rahman Badol started his career as a police officer he joined Banani Police Station in 2023 as an Officer-in-charge, he also performed his duty as an officer- in-charge in Kamrangirchar Thana in 2020. He worked in Wari Thana as an inspector (investigation) His batch is 2005 this man did his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Jagannath University.

In order to become a developed country, all must be equally skilled. If we want to develop our country and want a smart Bangladesh.”

“At present, the people’s mindset about the police is changing gradually. While talking about the challenges he is facing at work and how to overcome them, then Badol mentioned, “The training we receive prompts us to face challenges.  Bangladesh’s most important and sensitive zone as far as maintaining law and order is concerned.  Yet Mustafizur is humble, and his office is open to everyone who has been wronged.

Why did he want to join the police? “I wanted to do something for the people. Whenever something happens, the first respondent is always the police. A direct relationship with the masses can happen only when one joins the police,” Mustafizur says.

He thinks that a police officer is always on duty. “If I get a phone call at three in the morning, I can’t ask the caller why he has called me at such an ungodly hour. Even if I cannot help him, I should talk politely to him, at a time of crisis saying words of comfort to the victim is also a big help,” he says.

Mustafizur thinks the criticisms that police, as a force, suffer from are based more on perception than reality.

“For generations we have been hearing that the police are bad, and the idea of the police as an inefficient lot has become engrained in our psyche. Only its users can judge the police,” he adds, saying the police, too, have to work hard to eliminate the negative image that it has.

“We have performed a miracle. I am proud to have actively participated in it; I consider it my greatest achievement as a police officer,” he says.

“Ours is a disciplined force; even though we have a lot of demands, Police have a lot to offer to this country and to its people. I want to make this happen,” he says.

“Whenever you try to do something, do it with honesty and dedication.”He says he always tries to follow this advice. “If people come to me for help, I consider myself lucky,” the super-cop says.

He said that the police have been performing duty professionally and facing challenges on legal frame. “As per the law, police perform their duties for maintaining law and order which is their legal responsibility,”.

He said the police do not make political statements but perform their duties to protect the lives and properties of the people and maintaining law and order.he said, “In my view, I perform my duties according to the law and the regulations.”

He said, “It is my responsibility to maintain law and order and I have to face the challenges that will come in front of me. I am entrusted with the responsibility of applying that law professionally and our members never fail to fulfill this duty”.“I am bound to do the legal duty. We have the training, necessary logistics, equipment and capabilities to carry out these duties,” he added.
