All the government, semi-government and private offices including banks and financial institutions resumed today  after the Eid vacation.

Attendance in the City Bhaban, the offices of divisional commissioner and deputy commissioner, Rail Bhaban, water development board, sericulture building, RAKUB headquarters, RDA Bhaban, Barendra Bhaban, RMP headquarters, Roads and Highway building and DASCOH Foundation were almost full as most of the officers and employees returned from their native homes.

Sources concerned, however, said the offices and courts will take their usual look from the next couple of days.

Some people were seen rushing to their respective offices to dispose of their pending urgent works on the opening day.

Meanwhile, a festive mood is prevailing at most of the offices. Officials and employees were seen exchanging Eid greetings and hugging one another.

The people who went to their village homes to celebrate the Eid with their relatives have started to return to the city to join their works. City streets still remain free from the usual traffic jams.

Many people, especially the teenagers, are still enjoying the festivity of the Eid in the city.

They were seen visiting the amusement spots, especially the bank of the Padma River, with enthusiasm and joy.

Thousands of people, especially children, poured in and around the city’s parks, historic places and other recreational centres to enjoy the Eid-ul-Azha vacation.
