3-day female entrepreneurs’ fair in Rangpur

A three-day “Female Entrepreneurs’ Fair-2023” began here aiming to boost the women entrepreneurships to create more job opportunities and enhance country’s economic growth.

Divisional Commissioner Md. Habibur Rahman formally inaugurated the fair by cutting a ribbon at a colorful function held on the Town Hall premises at the Public Library ground on Thursday afternoon as the chief guest.

E-cab Women Forum in association with ‘Sorbojoya Nari Uddogkta’ is organising the fair where female entrepreneurs have set up stalls displaying products produced in their cottage industries, small-scale enterprises and industries.

Presided over by Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Dr. Chitralekha Nazneen, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Kawsar Parveen attended the function as the special guest.

President of Dinajpur Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zannatus Safa attended the programme as a guest of honor.

The speakers said women entrepreneurs are playing a crucial role in creating job opportunities for the unemployed female workforce to improve their livelihoods by cutting poverty and accelerating national development.

They stressed on providing more assistance to female entrepreneurs in the private sector for flourishing the prevailing brighter prospect of cottage and handloom industries to boost rural economy alongside strengthening national economy.

The chief guest urged female entrepreneurs to further boost skills and avail assistance being provided by the government departments, banks and other financial institutions to explore brighter prospects of women entrepreneurship.

“The fair would help to introduce locally produced cottage and handicraft products of female entrepreneurs and create their linkage with traders and market operators to enhance trade and commerce in the region,” he added.
