Hamdard opens free medical camp

Hamdard Laboratory (Waqf) Bangladesh Limited has opened a free medical camp on the occasion of the 48th death anniversary and National Mourning Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Hamdard Laboratory (Waqf) Bangladesh Managing Director Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan inaugurated the program as the chief guest.

Officials and staff were present among others at the function held at the premises of Hamdard Laboratories at Bangla Motor in the capital. Speaking as the chief guest, Md Yousuf Harun Bhuiyan said that Hamdard is 100% dedicated to the people in health and education services.

The word “Hamdard” belongs to the Persian language which is a combination of “Ham” and “Dard”. “Ham” means a companion and “Dard” means pain. Hamdard thus means a companion in pain. Such a person is one who deeply compassionate with someone in anguish.

An Institution of Medicine Dedicated for Health Care and Education and a Movement for the Promotion of Morality, Science and Culture. The name of Hamdard will go down in history as an institution that virtually revived and put the Tibb (or Arabic system of medicine) on the world map. Although apparently in form it is mainly a pharmaceutical manufacturing concern, has made contributions to several other fields of human endeavor
