Sheikh Russel KC observes National Mourning Day

The country’s top tier football club Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd observed the National Mourning Day on Tuesday, commemorating the 48th anniversary of the martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The club is named after Sheikh Russel, the youngest child Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib, and younger brother of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Bashundhara Group Managing Director and Sheikh Russel’s Chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir took initiatives to observe this day through various programs.

Earlier this morning, Sheikh Russel directors, members and officials paid homage placing floral wreaths at the shrines of martyrs at Banani graveyard. The club officials offered Fateha and munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs of the August 15 carnage.
