woman held in husband murder case

A fugitive life-term convict has been arrested in a case over the murder of her husband at village Kutuhara under Panchbibi upazila in nJoypurhat district.

Doly Begum was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 from Adabar area in Dhaka on Saturday night. She had been absconding after registering of the case.

Doly got involved in an extramarital relation with Mostafizur Rahman, another fugitive life term convict in the murder case. They strangled Doly’s husband Abul Hossain on September 28, 2001 when he learnt about the extramarital affair between his wife and Mostafizur Rahman. They later fled away. On the following day, Abul Hossain’s father filed a murder case at Panchbibi Police Station being the plaintiff.

After hearing, District and Sessions Judge Court’s judge Noor Islam gave life-term sentences to four people including Doly Begum on June 26 last. Doly Begum was absconding. Panchbibi Police Station OC Zahidul Hasan confirmed about the arrest of Dolly and Mustafizur.
