The upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections will be held in the first week of January 2024, said Election Commissioner (EC) Md. Anisur Rahman.
He came up with this revelation at Training of Trainers (TOT) program at Agargaon Election Training Institute in the capital on Saturday. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal inaugurated the first phase of the TOT program.
Four Election Commissioners and EC Secretary were present on the occasion at the election training institute in Agargaon. EC Anisur said, “We have not yet fixed the date for the election. It can be mentioned that the formal proceedings of the election has started through this initiative (training). As a result, we all are here.”
Meanwhile, CEC Kazi Habibul Awal said the power of presiding officer has also increased to hold peaceful election. Mentionable, the training of election officials will continue from September to November 30. Around 3,500 experts will train at least nine lakh polling officials at the field level.
