JCI Dhaka East hosted its 2nd General Members’ Meeting (GMM) and a serene day out at The Slowdeck Resort, embraced by the tranquil charm of a mystic river and the gentle drizzle of a monsoon afternoon.

The meeting was presided over by Local President Mohammed Sazzad Un Newaz Rafi, accompanied by Chapter Mentor, General Legal Counsel Ahmed Imtiaz Samad, Executive Vice President Salma Akter, Vice President and COC Muna Sheikh along with other Vice Presidents Anisur Rahman Rajib, Ashik Alahi Majumdar, and Directors Rainul Islam and Mustabin Sami and our Past Vice President (2022) and Senator Md Maruf Hossain. Together, they presented a powerful review of the chapter’s milestones from the last two quarters and outlined ambitious plans focusing on youth empowerment and community impact.

A major highlight of the event was the official launch of JCI Dhaka East’s new flagship project, “Blood for Thalassemia.” This life-saving initiative aims to organize regular blood donation drives and raise awareness among the youth to support thalassemia patients—underscoring the chapter’s deep commitment to social responsibility and health advocacy.

The chapter also proudly announced its upcoming participation in the JCI ASPAC Conference 2025 in Mongolia this June. A delegation will represent Bangladesh on the global stage, fostering cross-border collaborations and bringing enriched experiences back home.

The event was further elevated by the presence of esteemed national leaders including Deputy National President Arefeen Rafie Ahmed, National Secretary General Zafir Shafie Chowdhury, Advisor to the National President Tahsin Azim Shezan, National Vice President and Chapter Mentor Navid Arefin Khan, National General Legal Counsel SK Motiur, International Affairs Chairperson Sinan Arefen, Foundation and Club Chairperson Raju Ahmed.
