State Minister of Labour and Employment of Bangladesh Md. Nazrul Islam Chowdhury said that the current labor-friendly government is working to ensure the social status, health and safety of the labor brothers and sisters. State Minister of Labour and Employment said that labor laws and regulations will be updated in a short time keeping in mind that the interests of both workers and employers are protected. The country must be moved forward by workers and owners together. To become a developed country under the leadership of the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the Father of the Nation, the workers and the owners must work together in harmony. Several amendments have been brought to modernize Bangladesh Labor Act-2006.
The current government has formulated the National Labor Policy-2012, the National Child Labor Elimination Policy-2010, the National Occupational Health and Safety Policy-2013 and the Domestic Workers Protection and Welfare Policy-2015 to ensure the social status, health and safety of the workers, making Bangladesh a country with stable industry in the world, proved to be an emerging economy.
On Thursday (June 20), the Ministry of Labor and Employment organized a day-long training workshop on Information Rights in Cox’s Bazar with the aim of creating public awareness. The Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Mahbub Hossain presided over the event.
