Traffic constable killed in Ctg road mishap

A traffic police constable was killed when a bus knocked him down while performing his duty in city’s Sholoshohor area under Panchlaish thana here yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Nurul Karim, 48, hailed from Gopalpur upazila of Tangail district. He had been working for Traffic Division of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP).

Eye witnesses said Nurul Karim received serious injuries when he was knocked down by a city service Bus No-10 while performing his duty.

Tariqul Islam, Inspector of CMP North Traffic Division said the incident occurred at around 11 pm last night when the bus hit him at the said area leaving him injured.
He was rescued and taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
