BNP Standing Committee member and former minister Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf said, “The former fascist government destroyed the country’s education system. Once an elected government is formed, technical education will be reintroduced into the national education system. You must acquire proper education so you can serve the country in the future. If you do not learn real knowledge, you will not be able to achieve anything good later. So put down your mobile phones, avoid private tutoring, and study regularly on your own.”
He made these remarks on Monday (17 November) while addressing the meritorious students’ felicitation ceremony at the historic Daudkandi Adarsha Pilot High School in the Daudkandi municipal area of Cumilla.
Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said, “I was a student of this school. In my student life at Dhaka University, in my teaching career, and in my political life—I was always first, because I worked tirelessly.”
He further said, “Over the past 15 years, the fascist government completely destroyed the education system in an attempt to ruin the nation.
In 2025, as the SSC exams were conducted properly, many students failed. But during the fascist government’s rule, they passed 100 percent of students and thereby destroyed the education system. Therefore, acquire proper education and serve the country in the days ahead—take responsibility for the nation. This is my prayer for you.”
The event was presided over by the school’s president, education enthusiast Abdus Sattar. Special guests included former secretary Md. Nizam Uddin, Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Amin, and BNP Executive Committee member Dr. Khandaker Maruf Hossain.
Also present were the school’s head teacher Alhaj Jasim Uddin Ahmed; Cumilla North District BNP Senior Joint Convener Bir Muktijoddha Abul Hashem; M. A. Latif Bhuiyan, convener of Daudkandi Upazila BNP; VP Jahangir Alam, member-secretary of Daudkandi Upazila BNP; former Upazila BNP president Bir Muktijoddha A. K. Shamsul Haque; school committee member and education enthusiast Zahirul Islam Ripon; municipal BNP convener Nur Mohammad Selim Sarkar; Senior Joint Convener Peter Chowdhury; and other notable local dignitaries.
